These terms govern the Black Campaign School text message program. By opting in you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not opt in.
The short version. We text you when class is starting and when something matters. Roughly 1 to 4 messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to quit, HELP for help. We never sell or rent your number.
1. What the program is
Black Campaign School Action Fund ("Black Campaign School," "we," "us") operates a recurring automated marketing text message program. Messages include class reminders, links to live sessions and recordings, program announcements, and civic engagement information.
2. How you opt in
You join by giving us your mobile number and affirmatively agreeing, through one of these:
- Checking the SMS consent box on a form at blackcampaignschool.org
- Checking the SMS consent box on a Black Campaign School survey or registration form
- Texting a keyword we publish to our program number
Providing a phone number without checking the consent box does not enroll you. We do not add numbers to this program from purchased lists, rented lists, event sign-in sheets, or any third-party source.
The consent you are giving
By providing your mobile number and checking the consent box, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages from Black Campaign School at that number, including messages sent using an automatic telephone dialing system. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or of participation in any class. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies, typically 1 to 4 messages per month. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help.
3. Message frequency and cost
Frequency varies with our program schedule and is typically 1 to 4 messages per month. It may be higher in the weeks around an election or a class series. Message and data rates may apply. Those charges come from your mobile carrier, not from us. Check your plan.
4. How to stop
Reply STOP to any message to end the program at any time. You may also reply QUIT, END, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE. We will send one confirmation message and then stop. To rejoin, opt in again through any of the methods in section 2.

6. Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to your carrier's transmission. The program is supported on most major U.S. carriers. We cannot guarantee delivery on every carrier or device.
7. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, a resident of the United States, and the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number you provide. Do not enroll a number that is not yours.
8. Changes to your number
If you change or give up your mobile number, tell us at win@blackcampaignschool.org so we do not text a number that no longer belongs to you.
9. Privacy
Your number and your consent record are handled under our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Our messages are delivered through Intuit Mailchimp, which processes the data on our behalf under its own terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued participation after a change means you accept the updated terms.
